This Semptember was extremely busy for us with celebrating the High Holy Days: Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot. The picture of us is in front of the synagogue for Rosh HaShanah, when you are to wear white in light of Isaiah 1:18 - "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool."
Lauren has finished her Bible study with the ladies, and she is very encouraged by the new friendships she has formed with those in the group. The Bible study material also deepened her walk with the Lord. The timing works out great because with the Jewish New Year, a new cycle of readings for the Torah (first 5 books of Old Testament), Prophets and the New Testament are beginning. Lauren is excited to begin reading with a new perspective. If you would like to see the readings you can follow the link http://www.flamefoundation.org/download/07-08%20calendar%2020070704.pdf
Paul's class on the book of Matthew is still going on with new insights on the text. You can check it out at the old MHOP site - http://www.merriamhop.org/. We say "old" web site because Eric and others have been revamping it with significantly improved graphics and content for Merriam and Kingdom Living. We are very impressed and thankful, hoping to launch the new site in October.
On a personal note:
Noah went in for his 4 month check up. He is doing great and weighs 16.1 lbs and is 26 1/2 inches. He is so much fun. For pictures you can check out his blog: http://noahcalebblake.blogspot.com/
