Digging Deeper in the Word

This month Paul has done an outstanding job of putting together two different studies. One is a compilation of his spiritual warfare notes, and the other is on rebuilding the city by looking at the books of Ezra, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Esther. Both studies have been tranformational to those in our fellowship.

The renovations are going well for the Merriam House of Prayer. It has been neat to see the body come together to help with the renovations. Eric and Mark have been working with the sound system. They even helped move in a piano that was donated to the church. Tom has been contacting the appropriate people to help with the remodeling - roof, bathrooms, plumbing, painting, etc. Susan and Melissa helped out by cleaning out rooms and floors. We will be excited to open the doors in February for others to come and pray for the city of Merriam with us. We have also gathered more spiritual history of our city by talking to other pastors and church members in our city this month.

Starting this month we have been going to Adat Yeshua's Friday night service and throughly enjoying it. This is a congregation of believing Jews - Messianic Jews - who welcome Gentiles to their services. It is a true honor to participate in a united church of Jews and Gentiles, not to mentioned sitting undernearth a trained Messianic Rabbi. The spring semester classes that the Rabbi offers on Monday and Tuesday nights have also begun as a part of the Jewish Roots Institute. Several of us are taking classes such as: Hebrew Thought, The Presence of the Lord, The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Jewish Feasts, etc.

We have changed our struture around so that Sunday's teaching is on the first commandment - loving God with all of our being. Specifically, we will be looking at the least emphasized person of the Trinity ... Holy Spirit. All are welcome to come - whether you are interested in learning more about Holy Spirit, desiring to have a small group of loyal friends, or simply learning more about the transformation process. We will be meeting at 10am at our house: 6857 Mastin Dr, Merriam, KS 66203. If you need directions please call 913-221-5878, as we would love to see you there.

On a personal note: Paul, Harrison and I went to the doctor this month and found out that we are having a BOY! His first name will be Noah, but we are undecided on the middle name. The picture is our first family photo - if you look closely you can see Noah on the TV screen.

As part of our Christmas present, Lauren's parents took us on vacation to Orlando. It was Harrison's first time. He had a blast going to Medieval Times, The Holy Land Experience, Disney World, Animal Kingdom and Lego Creation Center. It was a great trip for the whole family! It was fun for all of us to be with Meme, Granddaddy, Courtney, Nathan and their four girl beautiful girls. Below is one fun photo from our time together.
