A month of fun surprises!

This month we had the privledge of going to the Voice of the Light conference in Miami, FL. While there we connected with Cheryl (who is in the picture with Lauren), who works closely with VotL. We have been in contact with her for a few months, so it was exciting to meet her in person and discover that we have a similar spirit and vision to bring about God's kingdom here on earth. We also had a wonderful time engaging in worship and hearing messages from Ana and Emerson Ferrell. Their books on spiritual warfare and their experiences, and more importantly their walk with the Lord, have been a huge encouragement to our house church as we continue on our path to transforming Merriam as well as Kansas. We felt honored to have both Ana and Emerson pray for us after the conference, and we are looking forward to the partnership God has brought with their ministry.

We also enjoyed visiting Lauren's family since we were in south Florida. The dates worked out great since we were able to celebrate Lauren's grandma's 84th birthday.

While we were in Florida, the house church had a special speaker that the Lord arranged for us the week before we left. Our local Rabbi Jerry Feldman emailed Paul informing him that one of the main leaders in the Messianic movement, Rabbi Russ Resnick, was going to be in town and wanted to know if we would like to have him speak at our house church. Paul obvisouly responded with a BIG yes. We were disappointed that we were not able to be there, but we heard it was a wonderful time of dialogue and encouragment.

The Merriam House of Prayer (MHOP) has been up and running this month. Mark has done an excellent job overseeing and leading several of the sets, which are from 11am-2pm weekdays. We have set aside Thursdays as our corporate time of prayer and fasting. We have two praise reports from MHOP this month. The first is that Mark and Melissa were praying for financial favor and specifically for $5,000. A few days later a check for a little over $5,000 came in! Last Thursday, the Lord showed Leah, our sister-in-law, a powerful picture. She writes, "Last Thursday I got to go to MHOP for a bit. While I was there I saw a picture: a cloud of lightning was descending on the house of prayer and then it shot out bolts throughout Merriam. Then there was a shaking of the earth. I heard God say, "I'm not only going to shake the heavens, I'm going to shake the earth too." I remember thinking ... wow. I used to laugh about earthquakes ever happening in Kansas (do you remember practicing for earthquakes?). So then when I was drawing this picture in my journal, I felt compelled to draw Kansas and the cloud of lightning was in the northeast corner, and the bolts were shooting out through Kansas. Then on Friday morning at 3:15 am, there was an earthquake outside of Nortonville, KS which is in the northeast corner of KS, just a little northeast of Topeka. It registered at a 3.1. True story. It was in the Kansas City Star and here http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Quakes/us2007agcp.php ."

Joel 2:28-32a - "It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. 29 "Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30 "I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke. 31 "The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32 "And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered;"

We are encouraged at what the Lord is doing here. One of the words spoken over Paul during our time with Cheryl was that there would be a shaking, and then the boldness would come. We are looking forward to this season of boldness.

This month, we finished our studies of spiritual warfare and building a city. Paul did an excellent job igniting a fire in us to see what the Lord has in store for our city and state.

A big shift is happening in the house church this month. We are growing from one cell group to four. We are excited about this new opportunity and how the Lord is going to equip and bring the right people to the right groups. Additionally, Paul is going to begin focusing more on the state of Kansas, while his brother Tom is assuming more responsibilities for Merriam. At the end of March, Paul and I are going to the Topeka Storm conference in Topeka, Kansas with hopes of meeting other people from Kansas who have a similar vision of transforming our state. This fits in strategically with what Ana, Emerson, and Cheryl are helping us with at the spiritual warfare level.

Please continue to pray for the health of Lauren and baby Noah as she is less than 10 weeks away from the big day. As always we would love to hear from you as well, email us at kingdomlivingchurch@gmail.com
